Our solvent-free laminator complements Mercury’s high quality flexographic print process. This enables the company to offer an extensive range of laminates tailored to meet specific customer needs relating to shelf life, barrier requirements and visual enhancements. Lamination equally offers cost-effective packaging solutions.
The machine is capable of processing all of the commonly used packaging films, foils and papers, including polyethylenes, polypropylene, polyester and polyamide.
The films can be metallised and can be high barrier films.
The lamination process uses solventless adhesives and as such no harmful solvents are emitted to atmosphere.
Laminates are extensively used in all areas of food packaging and are increasingly replacing more traditional packaging materials such as cartons and cans as a result of the weight saving offered with laminates and the consequent benefit on distribution costs.
